Our Story
October 23, 2016 - It was a Saturday night out in NYC to celebrate their mutual friend Dana’s birthday. Dana was a friend of Matt’s from high school and a friend of Brooke’s from The University at Albany. Throughout the evening, they caught each other’s attention, and once Matt approached Brooke with his undeniably good dance moves, the rest was history.
May 21, 2022 - During their first year of dating, Matt had
promised to take Brooke to Roosevelt Island on the East River of New York City for a picnic. Life got busy — new jobs, traveling the world, moving in together — and Matt never got around to taking Brooke on that picnic. Little did Brooke know, Matt had been planning this extraordinary day for over 8 months on Roosevelt Island. This Saturday afternoon and this picnic would be unlike any other. Upon arriving at Roosevelt Island on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a stunning view of NYC as the backdrop, Matt went down on one knee to ask Brooke to spend the rest of their lives together. Although they both blacked out in the moment from the nerves and happy tears, Brooke instantly said yes!
